We are aware of thius issue with v3.11.1 of the nRF Connect for Desktop app and are currently working to fix it. Until then, it should work to revert to v3.11.0 of the nRF Connect for Desktop app. Thank you all for your reports.

Same issue here.

I'm running nRF Connect for Desktop v3.11.1 with v3.0.0 of the Programmer.

Log:

Using nrf-device-lib-js version: 0.4.11

Using nrf-device-lib version: 0.11.8

Using nrfjprog DLL version: 10.15.4

Using JLink version: JLink_V7.58b

Error while setting up device 000801026096: TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefined

Target device closed

I tried this without success. I did find that reverting to nRF Connect for Desktop v3.11.0 allowed the programmer utility to work again. Installing v3.11.1 caused it to fail again. In both installations, the programmer utility version is v3.0.0. Perhaps that's a useful data point.

Hi Dan,

Just found there is a new nRF command line too package out: https://www.nordicsemi.com/-/media/Software-and-other-downloads/Desktop-software/nRF-command-line-tools/sw/Versions-10-x-x/10-16-0/nRF-Command-Line-Tools-10.16.0-x64.exe.

this version comes with a later version of jlink, please try this one and see if resolves the issue you having.

After install, checking version

nrfjprog --version
nrfjprog version: 10.16.0 external
JLinkARM.dll version: 7.66a

yeah its since i upgraded seggers driver stuff... have you found a work around... as i have to use jflash etc... none of the nordic tool work now

I have the same issue. My SEGGER J-Link Base Compact has v7.60f and nRF Connect Programmer is trying to use v7.58b and I see this error:

Using JLink version: JLink_V7.60f
Installed JLink version does not match the provided version (V7.58b)

Error while setting up device 000821001106: TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefined
Target device closed

Another colleague here has the same issue as well with v7.64 loaded onto the debug probe.

A J-Link flasher should work as long as you have an nRF device connected for flashing onto it as far as I know. Just to make sure, are you using v3.11.0 of the nRF Connect for Desktop app and v3.0.0 of the Programmer app? If not, try updating these. Can you also upload the full log so we can get a better look? You can also do Ctrl+Shift+I in the Programmer app to get an info window up. If you add a print of that as well it might be helpful.

Are you able to use nrfjprog to flash nRF devices with your J-Link flasher in the meantime?
