What code from "the link above" are you referring to? I don't see any code snippets or files in this DevZone ticket. https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/14058/external-programming-using-nrf52-dk

If you were able to flash something onto the board once, you might have flashed something with readback protection or similar onto it, so that it's not "allowed" to access it until you erase what's on it already. Can you download the nRF Command Line tools and see if you're able to do a nrfjprog --recover or nrfjprog --eraseall command in a command window?

I mounted the basic setup of nrf52832 shown in the datasheet and I actually got the code in by the setup from the link above.

However, that was the last time the code got in, and I cannot modify my code.
Is there any specific condition to program the chip using nrf52dk?

Thanks a lot, really.

RE: nrf52832 programming using nrf52dk board P20

Hi

Have you mounted the recommended decoupling capacitors and DCDC components onto your custom board as well? Some of the DEC capacitors should be mounted before trying to flash it with code. If you'd like, I can do a HW review of your schematics and circuit board design. Upload the schematic files and layout here, preferably as .pdf and gerber files respectively, and I'll check them out. If you don't want to share them in a public DevZone case, let me know and I can set it to private mode so that only yourself and Nordic engineers will have access.

Best regards,

Yes the chip is mounted onto the custom board, and it is connected to DK with the setting ubove. The DK is turned on.

There is no error when the external nrf52832 is not connected.

Furthermore, I tried cutting off SB20 and SB21 back of nrf52dk to use it as SWDCLK and SWDIO. This didn't work either.

Any suggestions?

RE: nrf52832 programming using nrf52dk board P20

Hi

Is your chip mounted onto the custom board it's supposed to be on Is the DK connected to the computer and turned on? Do you also see this error when the external nRF52 is not connected?
