&lt;p&gt;Are you refering to the &lt;span&gt;&lt;a title="UART" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/hardware_driver_uart.html?cp=8_1_2_0_19"&gt;UART&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt; driver/peripheral when you say &amp;quot;NRF_UART&amp;quot;? In that case, you can use the CONNECT and DISCONNECT events from the Softdevice to trigger initialization and uninitalization of the peripheral. Note that the UART consumes about 1mA when enabled with RX.&lt;/p&gt;
