We have a project working on the NRF9160 dk, however we have run into some issues with our custom board, we are using the lwm2m_client sample to prevent that firmware errors are the origin and we use the DJ Jlink to program the custom board.

RE: NRF9160 custom board modem problem

Hi Snaider,
Any recommendation on bringing up the custom PCB
Following nRF9160 Hardware Design Guidelines during your HW design, then you can raise a private ticket to get help from our HW expert for a free HW review. Our nRF9160DK and Thingy91 are good references for your custom board design.
What are the hardware outputs to the modem that I should be looking at?

Using the DK as programmer, can I connect to the modem using the LTE link monitor to verify the modem is working correctly?

I have free UART pins, can I use them to get the LOG info? What should I modify in the configuration?
Please play with lwm2m_client sample with nRF9160DK at first and observe the log output from LTE Link Monitor. For nRF9160DK, it uses UART0 as default output, and the pins assignment can be found in the device tree file. For your custom board, you can modify the device tree file to get log output and connect with LTE Link Monitor on PC through USB/TTL converter.
