As far as I know, it's only the Windows stack that has this limitation.

Hi,

Yes, there are several samples which expose the HCI interface in our nRF connect SDK:

Bluetooth: HCI low power UART
Bluetooth: HCI Power Control
Bluetooth: HCI RPMsg
Bluetooth: HCI SPI
Bluetooth: HCI UART
Bluetooth: HCI USB
Bluetooth: HCI H4 over USB

Please note that it will not work with the Windows Bluetooth stack as it requires a controller with dual-mode support (BR/EDR + BLE ). nRF52 and nRF53 are BLE only.
