JLinkARM.dll reported "-1", an unknown error

Hi,

I am trying to erase and flash a nRF52840 chip on a custom board. I use a J-Link EDUwith the Cortex M adapter to plug onto the board. I checked the hardware conf several times, it looks fine to me.

I am running Linux Mint 20.3 on Windows VirtualBox.

Running nrfjprog -v delivers the following:
nrfjprog version: 10.15.2 external
JLinkARM.dll version: 7.60e

I attached the corresponding log.log file. Do you have an idea where the problem might be ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Nicolas G.

  • Hi,

First of all, thanks for your fast reply.

It's the first time I try erasing/programming nRF products. I am taking over someone who has worked on this product before and was able to do it using this setup (however they were working on a MacOS machine). This person has left the company before I arrived though, so I can't ask too much help that way. But because of this I am pretty confident in the hardware I am using.

    The board is powered.

I don't know about readback protection. When I send nrfjprog --recover --log the same problem arises. I attach the logs for this command.
