Upload code to external nrf52832 chip

Hi, I want to upload the code to external nrf52832 chip(which is on the custom-made PCB) using nrf52DK board.

First, I tried to check uploading the nrf52832 chip on nrf52DK board (nrf52DK-to-nrf52DK) using nrf52DK board following the figure below.

And it worked properly.

Next, I tried to upload external nrf52832 chip on my PCB with the same way. However, the error appeared.

I only soldered nrf52832 chip and tried to upload code. Should I assemble all the other parts(ex) crystal, inductor) to upload the code?

Is there any solution for this, please?

  • Hi, most parts aren't necessary, but it's recommended to mount decoupling and VDD capacitors, and the DCDC components (if applicable) so the current flows as intended. Stuff like the external crystals shouldn't be necessary to mount.
