nRF52_DK PCA10040 V2.1.0 programming file of ATSAM3U2CA-AU (interface)

Good morning.

I have an EVAL nRF52_DK PCA10040 V2.1.0 and connecting the EVAL to the PC through the USB cable no VCP and no CDC disc are recognized.

With an EVAL nRF52_DK PCA10040 V1.2.4 and with the same USB cable the PC correctly sees both the VCP and the CDC disk.

In the EVAL nRF52_DK PCA10040 V2.1.0 card that does not work I am afraid that the ATSAM3U2CA-AU uC has been programmed incorrectly through the P18 (SWD) connector by a colleague of mine who no longer works with me.

I ask where I can find the file to reprogram the ATSAM3U2CA-AU uC through the P18 (SWD) connector.

Are there any other solutions to reprogram the ATSAM3U2CA-AU uC ?

How can I check if the ATSAM3U2CA-AU uC has been mistakenly deleted ?

  • Hello,

    Sorry for the late reply.

Can you please try to hold the "IF BOOT/RESET" Button down while you power the DK on? When you do that, does the LED5 (next to the ATSAM3U2CA-AU µC start to blink with a period of ~0.5Hz, and does the device show up as "BOOTLOADER" on your computer? If it does:

If it does, can you try to drag and drop (copy paste) this file:

(You can also find this file under the downloads tab for the nRF52DK site on nordicsemi.com:

    https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-hardware/nRF52-DK/Download?lang=en#infotabs

To the "BOOTLOADER" folder on your PC. After a few seconds, LED5 should start blinking more rapidly (~4Hz), and the "BOOTLOADER" device should disappear. After that, power the DK off, and back on (without holding "IF BOOT/RESET"), and see if it turns up as a JLink device. j-link

Let me know if it works.
