HI Nordic, I've looked through all the documentation and tried a bunch of failed experiments...so I thought i'd ask you. On the nrf52840-DK, I'd like to Connect the DK to PC over USB Cable Use serial port to configure the device Unplug the USB Cable and the system will keep on running on Lithium Power or VIN3-5. Connect the DK to PC over USB Cable again Use serial port to communicate with the device Unplug the USB Cable but the system will keep on running on Lithium Power or VIN3-5. Essentially, I'd like it to behave like a "normal" battery operated device where I can use the serial port and the system is always powered. I've tried both and it does not seem to work and has erratic behavior.

Essentially, I'd like it to behave like a "normal" battery operated device where I can use the serial port and the system is always powered. I've tried both and it does not seem to work and has erratic behavior.

Oh, and please let me know if this can be achieved and if so how. I have both 4.8V 3xAA and a 3.6V Li-Ion batteries

Hi Andy,

I would need some more information to be able to better assist you.

Regarding steps 2 and 5, what are you trying to do exactly when "configuring the device" and "communicating with the device"?
Which USB port are you using for connecting DK to PC in step 1?
When you connect again as you mentioned in step 4, are you connecting to the same USB port as in step 1?

Configuring the device = plugging into the main usb port on the side and using the Jlink uart to type in a few commands. Always using the JLink USB port.
